Registering for ACE
Is there anything I need to do before registering for an ACE
Distance course?
We care about your success and are committed to providing you with high quality
online courses and support to enable you to reach your goal. To maximize your
chances of success, you must successfully complete the Learn to Learn course as
an orientation to ACE Distance learning.
How do I register for ACE Distance courses?
Tuition-free registration takes place in January, April and September.
Before registering for ACE Distance courses you must have completed the Consent
and Participant Information Form and Learn to Learn. To register in other
months you must pay fees.
It is your responsibility to register at the college of your choice.
Marla White and the Learn to Learn staff are not able to register you.
You will receive detailed directions and contact information at the end of
Learn to Learn about registering for an ACE Distance course.
College-Based ACE In-Class
Online learning is not everyone`s cup of tea. If you prefer classroom learning,
ACE courses are available free of charge at all 24 colleges across Ontario. At
last count, ACE programming was available in more than 75 communities across
the province. To find out where in-class ACE courses are available in your
area, contact the college(s) closest to you: click here.
If I'm taking an ACE course that required a textbook, where do I get this
book?
Textbooks are provided free of charge to students in the tuition-free
sessions. Students in the feepaying sessions must purchase their texts
from the CSC, directly from the publisher or at their local college
bookstore.
Both free and feepaying students must contact Marla White to arrange to
receive their texts. Once you are ennrolled in your ACE Distance course
you must email Marla White-Ranger at marlawhite75@gmail.com and provide the
following information: the name of the ACE course, your address and your phone
number. The book will be sent by courier the next day. It must be an address
where someone will be there to receive the book. Usually, the courier leaves a
notification that they have tried to deliver a package if no one is home and
directions for where you can pick it up. If you don't receive your book within
4 days, let Marla know and she will contact the courier service. You don't need
the textbook to get started. All courses have been designed to allow you to get
going immediately.
