When your application is approved, we’ll email you the login instructions for step 2: the Slillsmarker skills assessments.

After you receive the login instructions, you

have 7 days to complete the assessments

2

Complete the skills assessment.

Skillsmarker assessments measure your skills in 2 areas — Reading and Numeracy. It takes 1 to 2 hours to complete both assessments. Your results are available online as soon as you finish each one.

If your assessment scores meet the entry standards, you’ll continue on to the Learn to Learn orientation course.

If you don’t meet the required scores, you can take other free upgrading courses that will help you prepare for ACE Distance

3

Complete the orientation course.

This short orientation course is called Learn to Learn (L2L). It will help determine if you have the computer skills, academic background and personal attributes you need to succeed in ACE Distance courses.

L2L takes about 20 hours to complete over 3 weeks. You’ll have 30 days to finish. Once you’ve successfully completed L2L, you can register for an ACE Distance course. In total, the application process for ACE Distance takes 4 to 6 weeks.
